Although the specialist literature can, of course, be obtained in English, lectures and examinations are held mostly in German. It is not so challenging to find affordable universities in Europe to study medical courses such as medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, dentistry. In cases where your German language skills are inadequate, you need not worry. They may include passport, Fhrungszeugnis (clean criminal record), rztliche Bescheinigung (certificate of health), proof of German knowledge (certification of at least B2 level plus a specific Medical German test - Level C1 of CEFR), birth certificate, CV (German format, in German), and a copy of degree. Prospective international medical students to German medical schools must present originals and authenticated translation of high school certificate (Equivalent to the German Abitur) and documents as may be required by the school of choice. Apart from the above mentioned requirements, students must have a health insurance and a student visa in order to study in Germany.
